For anyone who understands the terminology and who wants to find a link between themselves and the Fifehead Newmans, the following listing of 37 Y-DNA markers may be helpful. They are supplied by Family Tree DNA and relate to myself (Chris Newman):

Y-DNA are only passed from father to son, thus tracing the paternal line of descent. Hence there should be a degree of commonality between the Y-DNA markers of all males descended from past generations of Fifehead Newmans. Male descendants of the Fifehead Newmans will not necessarily have identical DNA markers to the above, however the general rule is that closer the match the more recent will be the common ancestor.
